Inerting Fast
Inerting powder - neutralizing absorbent for sulfuric acid
INERTING FAST is the new inerting agent by Infla-Sealing, designed for the absorption and neutralization of acids accidentally spilled.
It looks like a white powder, packaged in buckets of different sizes.

Legal obligations
INERTING FAST completely satisfies D.M. Environment 24 January 2011, n. 20 IMPLEMENTATION of Legislative Decree 03/04/2006 N. 152.
Ministerial Decree 20 of January 24, 2011 obliges all facilities intended for storage, recharging, maintenance, storage and replacement of lead accumulators to equip themselves with appropriate quantities of absorbent and neutralizing substances to be used in the event of the acid solution contained in the accumulators leaking.
The reference legislation: D.M. Environment 24 January 2011, n. 20

Art. 1
Area of law application
1. Determination of the extent of absorbent and neutralizing substances to be used in cases of leakage of acid solution contained in lead accumulators at plants intended for storage, recharging, maintenance, storage and replacement of the same accumulators ...  (read the full text of the law).
Features
INERTING FAST has a high neutralization potential than most similar compounds on the market.

Neutralizing power: 0.5 kg to neutralize 1 liter of battery acid, as the certificate of analysis of the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa.

Its chemical nature allows the rapid neutralization of sulfuric acid through an effervescent and exothermic reaction. Neutralization is to be considered complete when the effervescence of the product runs out: this reaction gives rise to a dense and floury compound that is very easy to remove. An overdose of INERTING FAST does not involve any danger and compacts the resulting product more.
All buckets are provided with explicit identification labeling of the contents.
The product resulting from this reaction is a dense and compact substance that has a pH very close to 7, corresponding to perfect neutrality, and which can therefore be easily collected and disposed of as a NON-TOXIC special waste.
Furthermore, the chemical reaction does not produce sparks or flammables and takes place entirely below 45 °.
Contrary to many products currently available, INERTING FAST does not contain corrosive or highly aggressive agents, so much so that it does not require hazard labeling.
The floury compound resulting from the neutralization reaction between INERTING FAST and the spilled electrolyte must be disposed of, according to current regulations, as non-toxic waste.
Certifications
The effectiveness and properties of Tekva's INERTING FAST inertizer are proven by the certification of May 4, 2012 by the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa.
Stationary batteries
In all environments intended to permanently contain lead / acid accumulators (battery room), a sufficient amount of neutralizing substance must be kept available to completely extinguish all the electrolyte contained in at least two of the elements making up the battery, for each battery installed. The amount of acid solution contained in the element, expressed in liters, must be certified by a manufacturer's declaration.

Portable batteries
In all storage rooms dedictaed for storage, recharging, maintenance and more generally for handling of portable containers of lead / acid elements, a quantity of certified absorbent and neutralizing substance must be kept available, necessary to extinguish all the acid solution. contained in the “portable battery” every 30 batteries supplied with the system.
This content must refer to the higher capacity battery and must be certified by the manufacturer's declaration.
Traction batteries
These are accumulators installed on board the vehicles powered by electric motors with operating voltage ranging from 12 to 80 V. In all areas intended to restore the efficiency of discharged batteries and where the devices responsible for carrying out the recharging function are therefore located (rectifiers), a quantity of extinguishing substance necessary for complete neutralization must be made available for the emergency relating to accidental spills of acid solution:
Small installations
Up to 5 batteries
50% of the electrolyte present in the battery with higher acid content
Medium installations
Up to 20 batteries
100% of the electrolyte present in the battery with higher acid content
Large installations
Beyond 20 batteries
200% of the electrolyte present in the battery with higher acid content
In all those areas where, in addition to recharging, also the replacement operations of exhausted batteries are foreseen, the aforementioned quantities must be considered doubled.
It is also mandatory for all users of battery-powered electric vehicles to possess the declaration issued by the manufacturer, for each battery present in the system and unequivocally identifiable by the serial number, relating to the acid solution content expressed in liters.
